Instead of a stage, THREAD uses the riverfront itself: the audience gathers at Locomotive Lawn and follows the dancers as the piece leads, surprises and meanders up the Hudson's edge. Kinesis Project builds its work from scientific research, and this is its third dance drawn from geologist Missy Eppes's studies. What to expect
Gather on Locomotive Lawn in Riverside Park South, then walk with the performers as the piece unfolds along the park's paths by the river. The performance begins shortly after the audience gathers and lasts about an hour.
Good to know
- Riverside Park South runs along the Hudson in the West 60s and 70s; take the 1, 2 or 3 train to 72 St and walk west.
- You'll be walking along with the performance, so wear comfortable shoes.
- Arrive at the gathering time; the dance starts moving soon after.
- Free and open to all, with no registration required.
