Race9/11 Tribute25th Year

On 9/11, off-duty firefighter Stephen Siller strapped on 60 pounds of gear and ran through the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel toward the towers; this race sends 30,000 people along his route. First responders, veterans and families running in memorial shirts make it one of the most moving races on the NYC calendar. If you are registered or want to cheer, this 25th running is the one to be part of.

What to expect

Runners gather on the Brooklyn side, stream through the tunnel and emerge in Lower Manhattan to crowds and first responders lining the route. Many participants walk, often in memorial shirts honoring the 343 FDNY firefighters and others lost.
