Warm Up has been the city's most credible outdoor dance party since 1998 — a museum courtyard, a serious sound system and lineups that book next year's headliners this year. Friday afternoon-into-night timing makes it the start of the weekend for half of Brooklyn and Queens. Tickets are cheap for what it is and sell out for the big names.

What to expect

An outdoor party from 4pm to 10pm with two to four acts, a bar, food and the museum's galleries open; expect a young, dressed crowd and a line at the door after 6pm.
