Woodlawn's neighborhood groups and Van Cortlandt Park Alliance take over Indian Field for an afternoon of Celtic and Americana music from the duo Shannon & John, face painting, nature crafts and bocce. NYC Parks' Urban Park Rangers and NYRR's kids' program join in, with woodland family walks into the park. If you are in the north Bronx or Yonkers border area with kids, it is an easy, friendly afternoon.

What to expect

Families spread out across Indian Field near East 233rd Street and Jerome Avenue, rotating between craft tables, games and music. Woodland family walks with the Urban Park Rangers are also on the program. Bocce, face painting and the NYRR kids' activities keep younger visitors busy.
