Marcel Breuer's granite landmark housed the Whitney for nearly fifty years, and this fair puts art from 1900 to 2000 back in its galleries. About 80 percent of the presentations are solo or two-person shows, including The Andy Warhol Foundation presenting Warhol and Berry Campbell's look at the women of Stable Gallery. If big fairs overwhelm you, this is the focused, museum-feeling alternative of Armory Week.
What to expect
Expect compact, carefully hung booths across the Breuer's floors, closer to a string of small museum shows than a trade floor. The building itself is part of the draw, from the trapezoid windows to the stone stairwell.

- Take the 6 train to 77th Street and walk to Madison Avenue at 75th Street.
- The Thursday session is invitation-only; public days follow.
- Much smaller than the Javits fairs, so a thorough visit takes an hour or two.
