Green-Wood is one of Brooklyn's most beautiful landscapes, and once a month its Green-House classroom opens for free hands-on projects. This time, families make paint from flowers grown in artist Jean Shin's installation, Offering, and then paint with the colors. If you have a creative kid and want to pair it with a walk through the grounds, it is a great low-key afternoon.
What to expect
Drop in at the Green-House, find a seat and join two themed activities led by Green-Wood's education staff. Seating and materials are first come, first served, and afterward you can wander the cemetery's paths.
