Chelsea Green is a neighborhood park on West 20th Street, and for one evening it becomes an outdoor movie theater for Pixar's Monsters, Inc., with Billy Crystal and John Goodman voicing Mike and Sulley. It is free, all-ages and low-effort in the best way. If you have kids, or just want an easy, nostalgic evening outside before the weather turns, bring a blanket.
What to expect
Families settle onto blankets before sunset and the film starts at dusk on a screen in the park. It runs about 90 minutes, so expect to wrap up after dark.
Good to know
- No registration is required.

- The screening may be canceled for heavy rain or extreme weather; NYC Parks posts updates before start.
- The 1 to 18 St or the C/E to 23 St are the closest trains.
