What to expect
You arrive to a long double row of tents on an open field, each with a hand-lettered sign and a short line. Portions are deliberately small, so the move is to graze: get one thing, walk, get another. - Take the 7 train to 111th Street and walk about four blocks south, or to Mets-Willets Point and walk through the park
- Parking is very limited - the organizers ask people to walk, bike or take transit
- Bring cash as a backup; some vendors move faster with it even where cards are accepted
- Lines are longest right after the gates open, so graze rather than committing to one stall
- The field is flat and open, so it is stroller- and wheelchair-navigable, but it gets muddy after rain
