From 17th-century petitions to 21st-century mass marches, MCNY's new permanent activism center follows more than 20 New York protests and the notebooks, posters and tools behind them. It ends with a hands-on room where you can make a poster, explore your neighborhood digitally and even register to vote. If you want a museum visit that leaves you doing something, this is the one opening this weekend.
What to expect
Galleries are organized by tactic: Demonstrations, Organizing, Art and Media (with an interactive musical experience) and Direct Action. A final section, Your City, Your Move, has a poster-making station, a neighborhood digital interactive and voter registration for anyone 18 and older.
