Sunnyside & Woodside Mutual Aid started in spring 2020 delivering groceries and medicine to neighbors, and years later it still staffs weekly pop-up pantries in both neighborhoods. This field day takes over all of Torsney Playground by Sunnyside Yard, a chance to meet the volunteers behind that work outside a pantry line. If you live nearby, or want to see what a durable neighbor-run network looks like, spend an afternoon here.

What to expect

Expect a neighborhood gathering spread across the whole playground, with volunteers, local families and kids. The permit listing doesn't publish a program, so check SWMA's Instagram (@swma_nyc) or swma.nyc for the day's activities and how to get involved.
