FreeBlock Party

A free daytime edition of New York's most theatrical club is the rare no-commitment way to sample its world: costumes, performers and a dance floor in daylight. It suits the nightlife-curious, budget weekends and anyone who wants one last outdoor dance of the season. If a 10pm door has always kept you from House of Yes, walking into the free street version fixes that.

What to expect

A street-party setup with DJs running all afternoon, roaming and staged performers, and the club itself open as home base. The crowd builds through the afternoon and skews colorful, friendly and dance-forward. Come and go as you like — the free, unticketed format makes it an easy anchor for a Bushwick day of vintage shops and food stops.

Good to know

  • L train to Jefferson St lands you a block away
  • Free entry all day — come early for a mellower scene, later for peak dancing
  • Street parties are rain-or-shine unless the venue says otherwise; check socials
  • Bring sunscreen — shade is limited on the block in the afternoon
  • Bushwick taquerias and bars surround the block when you need a break
