This is the closest thing New York has to a Munich festival tent: long tables, one-liter Masskrüge of four Bavarian Festbiers, pork shank and Obazda, all set against the Manhattan skyline across the East River. It comes from Zum Schneider, the Avenue C Bavarian biergarten, and ticketed sessions keep tables organized. If you want Oktoberfest done properly rather than a bar with a banner, book a Saturday session.

What to expect

Guests are seated by ticket type at communal tables, with beer served in one-liter mugs and a menu of roasted pork shank, giant pretzels, Obazda cheese spread and rotisserie chicken. A separate rooftop biergarten has its own self-service bar and views of the skyline and the Williamsburg Bridge.

Good to know

  • Saturdays are split into an early and a late session, so pick one when booking.
  • A non-alcoholic option of HB Traunstein is available.
  • VIP tables seat ten and include a first liter each, handy for groups.
  • The rooftop biergarten is a lower-cost ticket with its own bar and skyline views.
  • Franklin Point sits on Franklin Street near the Greenpoint waterfront; the G train and NYC Ferry both serve the area.

Going? Keep it.
