Each Fall for Dance night stacks three companies from different corners of the dance world into one evening, at one flat price. The closing Program 5 brings Pony Cam's world premiere kinda like that, Miami City Ballet in Alexei Ratmansky's Roses from the South, and The Australian Ballet's US premiere of Stephanie Lake's Seven Days. If you've meant to try dance at a top Midtown house, this is your last chance this year.

What to expect

Expect a varied program with intermissions between companies, so you see ballet, contemporary work and theatrical dance in one sitting. City Center's historic Moorish-style auditorium on West 55th Street fills with a mix of longtime dance fans and first-timers, and free pre-show dance lessons run for ticketholders on select nights.

Good to know

  • City Center is at 131 W 55th St; take the N, Q, R or W to 57 St–7 Av or the F to 57 St.
  • Every seat is the same price, so good orchestra seats go first.
  • Free pre-show dance lessons for ticketholders are offered on select nights, subject to capacity.
  • Casting and programming can change, so check the program before you go.
  • Each program features three companies, which makes it a good sampler for newcomers.

Going? Keep it.
