Gorilla Gorilla follows an up-and-coming director whose sophomore film, pointedly titled In Memory of Anne Heche, collapses as scenes go wrong, actors quit and her friendship with her lead turns toxic. Rooftop Films is giving it a world premiere with the filmmakers and cast on hand. If you like indie comedies about making movies, this is a premiere-night ticket.

What to expect

Doors open an hour before the film at New Design High School on Grand Street, and the 87-minute feature is followed by a Q&A moderated by Richard Perez with the directors and stars. The night then moves to an afterparty at DCTV nearby.

Good to know

  • Take the F train to East Broadway or Delancey St, or the J, M or Z to Essex St.
  • Stay for the Q&A with the filmmakers and cast.
  • The afterparty is at DCTV in Chinatown.
  • Best for indie film fans.
