Rosenstock's shows are among the most emotionally generous in punk — thousands of people screaming 'Festival Song' in unison is genuine catharsis, and doing it on a rooftop as the sun drops behind the Brooklyn Bridge is absurdly cinematic. He built his career on pay-what-you-want records and relentless sincerity. If you like your anthems sweaty and your skylines panoramic, this is the weekend's best combination of both.
What to expect
A rowdy but warm crowd, a horn-augmented band tearing through material from across his catalog, and 360-degree views of the harbor, bridges and skyline from the turf-covered roof. Early evening start means golden hour hits mid-set. Concessions and bars ring the roof deck.
