Special EventBrooklynParks Department

Clear litter from Prospect Park’s waterways and record what you find at this free volunteer cleanup with Prospect Park Alliance.

Removing litter is only part of this Prospect Park Alliance cleanup: volunteers also identify and record the debris they find. That combination makes a morning outdoors a chance to pay closer attention to what ends up in local waterways. Join the park’s annual International Coastal Cleanup with a group or as an individual, with free advance registration.

What to expect

Meet at Prospect Park’s Park Circle entrance for a three-hour volunteer session. Participants remove debris from beaches and waterways while identifying and documenting the types of litter collected.
