Printemps turned the old Bank of New York headquarters into a department store, and its Playroom exists to rotate a new label through every few weeks. Saison 1865 has it until September 16, showing a quiet, well-cut wardrobe made from noble and recycled fabrics and manufactured largely in Europe. It costs nothing to browse, inside one of the more beautiful retail interiors in New York.
What to expect
The pop-up occupies the Playroom, the space Printemps reserves for short residencies, with menswear and womenswear from the French label's current collection. Expect tailoring, knitwear and accessories rather than spectacle. The rest of the store keeps the same hours, so it pairs easily with the Louis Roederer champagne bar or the Maia N pop-up in the Salon.
