The Hudson River Derby is the region's biggest soccer rivalry, dating to the two clubs' first meeting in 2015, and it is the one match each year both fan bases circle. It is also one of the last chances to see NYCFC play in the Bronx before the club moves to its new stadium in Queens. If you have never been to an MLS match, a Friday night derby is the loudest introduction you can get.
What to expect
Drums, flags and chants from the supporters' sections for the full 90 minutes, and a baseball stadium reconfigured with a soccer pitch laid across the infield and outfield. Expect a big, energetic crowd, a vocal visiting section from New Jersey, and plenty of rivalry banter on the train ride in.

- Supporters' sections stand and sing throughout; choose a seat elsewhere if you want to sit
- Check the stadium's bag policy before you go
- Crowds are heavy after the final whistle, so expect packed trains
- Rush-hour trains fill early for night matches; leave extra travel time
