Survivors, families and teams gather at Marine Park's Carmine Carro Community Center to walk a 3/4-mile loop, once or twice, in honor of people touched by pancreatic cancer. The Lustgarten Foundation is the largest private funder of pancreatic cancer research, and 100% of donations raised go to research. If someone in your life has faced this disease — or you just want a meaningful Sunday morning outdoors — this is a walk worth lacing up for.
What to expect
An event village opens ahead of the walk at the Carro Center, followed by an opening ceremony and then the walk itself on a 3/4-mile track with one- or two-lap options. Expect teams in matching shirts, families with strollers, dogs on leashes and a supportive, community-fundraiser atmosphere.
Good to know
- The course is wheelchair and stroller accessible
- Dogs are permitted — bring water for them
- Arrive early to visit the event village before the opening ceremony
- Choose one or two laps of the 3/4-mile track depending on your pace
- Marine Park isn't right on a subway line; plan a bus connection or drive to Fillmore Avenue
