Tim Kasher has spent decades writing some of indie rock's most cutting songs with Cursive and The Good Life, and Who's Watching is his turn as a feature director. At the Roxy he opens each night with a short acoustic Cursive set, then stays for a moderated Q&A after the film, with horror director Jenn Wexler one night and Bunny co-writer Stefan Marolachakis the next. For Saddle Creek-era fans, it is a show and a movie in one ticket.

What to expect

The Roxy is a single-screen, 119-seat art deco cinema in the cellar of the Roxy Hotel. Kasher plays acoustic first, the film screens, and the night closes with a moderated conversation. Craft cocktails are available at the concession stand.

Good to know

  • Two nights with different Q&A moderators; pick whichever guest interests you.
  • The Roxy has just 119 seats, so events sell out.
  • Roxy Cinema is at 2 Avenue of the Americas in Tribeca; Canal St (A/C/E) and Franklin St (1) are close.
  • The cinema is on the hotel's cellar level; follow signs from the lobby.
  • A good fit for fans of Cursive and emo-era indie rock.
