Two full soccer fields in Flushing Meadows Corona Park host a day of charity-cup matches marking 20 years of 06 United, a club founded by Queens players in June 2006. What to expect
Matches run back-to-back on soccer fields 8 and 9 in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, with players, coaches, volunteers and families lining the touchlines. Spectators can drift between the two pitches, catch a game or two, and stay as long as they like; there's no formal seating.
Good to know
- Take the 7 train to Mets–Willets Point or 111 St and walk into the park; the fields are spread out, so leave extra time to find fields 8 and 9
- Bring a folding chair or blanket, since sideline seating is whatever you bring
- Bring water, sunscreen and layers; there's little shade on the fields
