TheARTI$T comes to Harlem straight off a tour with Kehlani and Durand Bernarr, bringing songs from Who I Am, The ARTchives and DND to the Apollo's late-night Music Café. The series exists to catch artists on the rise in a small room before they outgrow it. If you like your R&B raw and close-up, this is the Friday late show to plan around.

What to expect

Expect an intimate cabaret-style room at the Apollo's Victoria Theater space, a late start and a set of confessional soul. The crowd is there to listen, and the room keeps the artist close.

Good to know

  • Take the A, B, C, D, 2 or 3 to 125 St; the Victoria is on 125th Street near the Apollo.
  • It's a late show, so plan dinner in Harlem beforehand.
  • The room is small, so buy tickets ahead.
  • Music Café spotlights emerging artists, a good way to discover someone early.
  • Check the Apollo site for the rest of the fall Music Café lineup.
