BERTHA started in Nashville after Tennessee passed its ban on public drag, and it has since become a cult favorite: powerhouse vocals, late-'70s and early-'80s Dead energy, and a rotating lineup of Berthas in full drag. Shows run the classic two-set format with new setlists every night. If you love the Dead, drag, or just a joyful, sweaty Brooklyn Bowl night, go.
What to expect
Expect two long sets of Dead jams in Brooklyn Bowl's bowling-alley-meets-club space, with lanes glowing beside the dance floor and fried chicken from the kitchen. The crowd dances, sings and twirls.
