Classic Harbor Line's resident trio, The Boat Band, usually sax, keys and drums, has played these 90-minute harbor cruises for a decade, moving from Gershwin and Duke Ellington to Motown and R&B as the yacht passes Battery Park, Governors Island, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. In the fall the band typically plays inside the glass-walled salon. If you want live music and skyline views in one booking, take this cruise.
What to expect
Each party gets an assigned table in the yacht's enclosed observatory while the trio plays and the boat loops Lower Manhattan. Drinks and light fare are sold on board.
Good to know
- Tables are private and assigned per booking
- One beer, wine, Champagne or soft drink is included; gratuity is not
- In the fall the band usually performs inside the heated salon
- Light fare is available to buy, so a full meal beforehand is smart
- Board at Chelsea Piers, Pier 62, West 22nd Street and the Hudson
