A pop-up urban pumpkin patch fills the plaza outside Atlantic Terminal, where kids pick a pumpkin, paint or decorate it, then climb into spooky haunted trucks parked on car-free Fort Greene Place. Brooklyn Bridge Parents adds arts and crafts, block building and a DJ, and costumes are highly encouraged. If you have little ones and no car to reach a farm patch, this is the easiest pumpkin morning in Brooklyn.

What to expect

Expect a busy, stroller-heavy plaza with activity stations spread across the outdoor space and the closed street. Kids rotate between pumpkin decorating, crafts and building, with music keeping things lively and lines forming at the haunted trucks.

Good to know

  • Atlantic Avenue–Barclays Center is right there, served by the 2, 3, 4, 5, B, D, N, Q and R plus the LIRR.
  • Register on Eventbrite in advance so organizers can plan pumpkin supply.
  • Come in costume; organizers encourage it.
  • Pumpkin painting gets messy, so dress kids in clothes that can take it.
  • In rain, the event moves to its posted rain date.
