After closing for its annual fall fix-up, the Staten Island Children's Museum reopens its exhibits for free, with advance registration. Midday a preparedness fair brings NYC Emergency Management's Ready Girl character, a bounce house, a balloon artist, face painting and superhero capes to colour. What to expect
The full museum is open, with extra craft stations set up throughout and community organisations sharing family resources. The fair activities cluster in the middle of the day. It sits on the Snug Harbor campus, so you can walk the grounds after.
