Clinton Avenue fills with the city's big machines — FDNY, DSNY, NYPD, NYC DOT and Parks vehicles, a volunteer ambulance and Brooklyn Public Library's Kidsmobile — and kids are invited to climb in and honk. Around the trucks there is a DJ, a Ghostbusters slime lab, double Dutch with Elite BKLYN Jumpers, face painting and free books. If your toddler narrates every garbage truck on the block, this is their meet-and-greet.
What to expect
Vehicles park along the closed street and crews let kids sit up front and explore. Music plays while side activities run between the trucks, with book giveaways from Brooklyn Book Bodega. Expect lines at the most popular rigs.
