In 1989 guitarist Margaret Slovak recorded eight original tunes in New York with Fred Hersch, Michael Formanek and Michael Sarin; this fall the album finally gets a vinyl pressing. She reunites with Sarin and adds pianist Gary Versace and bassist Simón Willson for a Sunday set at Soapbox Gallery, an acoustically tuned room on Dean Street. If you like intimate, listening-first jazz, this is a lovely hour.
