Tomas Harker paints seductive surfaces — shining gold, refracting glass, masks — then lets something uneasy creep in underneath, in canvases up to about eight feet wide like Arcadia and Shooting Star. It is his first solo show in New York, built on what the gallery calls the dream logic of cinema and afterimages. If you like lush, slightly sinister figurative painting, catch it in its final days.
What to expect
Expect a handful of large oil paintings from 2026, including Arcadia, Echo, Witness and The Cherry Tree, plus the darker Nosferalgia. The show is compact enough to see in fifteen minutes on a SoHo walk.
