Fourteen blocks of Sixth Avenue go car-free for a day, from Bryant Park past Radio City, lined with food stalls and vendors. It is one of the longest street fairs on the fall calendar, and it falls on the holiday weekend when Midtown is full of visitors. If you are in Midtown for the Rink opening or a show, walk the avenue with a snack in hand.

What to expect

Vendor tents run down the middle of Sixth Avenue selling street food, crafts and goods, with crowds thickest near the 42nd and 50th Street ends. It is a stroll-and-graze event, not a ticketed festival.
