Brooklyn Botanic Garden is a 52-acre garden and conservatory complex in Brooklyn, next door to the Brooklyn Museum. Public entrances are at 455 Flatbush Avenue and 990 Washington Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11225; the 150 Eastern Parkway entrance is temporarily closed. Take the subway to Prospect Park for the Flatbush Avenue entrance or Eastern Parkway-Brooklyn Museum for Washington Avenue; both stations have elevators. The Garden is closed Mondays. In September it is open 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday through Sunday, and in October 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Last entry is 30 minutes before closing. Everyone needs a ticket: adults pay $22 at the box office, children under 12 are free. Picnicking is not allowed, though sitting on several named lawns is.
