In September 2025 a five-alarm fire destroyed a historic Red Hook waterfront building that held more than 100 artist and maker studios, and the neighborhood's open-studios organizers have kept showing work anyway. This short-run sculpture exhibition lands inside the Red Hook Distillery on Van Dyke Street, part of the waterfront complex with a cidery and winery. If you like your art with a harbor walk and a local story, make the trip to Red Hook.

What to expect

Expect sculpture by neighborhood artists installed in the distillery building rather than a white-cube gallery, with an opening reception kicking things off. Red Hook's cobblestone streets, the Erie Basin waterfront and the organizer's audio mural tour make it easy to turn one stop into an afternoon.

Good to know

  • There is no subway in Red Hook — take the B61 bus or NYC Ferry to Red Hook/Atlantic Basin.
  • The venue is at 185 Van Dyke Street near the Red Hook waterfront.
  • Red Hook Open Studios also publishes an audio mural tour guide on its site.
  • Check the organizer's site for gallery hours before heading out.
  • Pairs well with a walk to Valentino Pier for harbor views.
